Christian Aid Street collection 2008

Christian Aid Week is the only time this church collects money from the general public and we confine ourselves to our local area (other churches similarly collect from their own patches). Our area is shown on the map .


This year the street collection amounted to a hugely gratifying
£3,179, an increase on last year - in fact each year we have seen a steady increase in the total collected.

In addition the Christian Aid Lunch in church raised £157
the quiz night £209
and the special Burma Appeal £360

As a large proportion of the money is Gift Aided a few hundred pounds will also be added by the Government. Therefore the £3,905 we will be sending to Christian Aid will benefit them by well over  £4,000.

Although it is not linked, we will be holding a Family Fun Day and   B-B-Q on 21st June when it is a good time to say thank you to the community around us. If you received a Christian Aid envelope in May I hope you have now received your invitation to our celebration. You will see the activity in our car park so do feel free to drop in and say Hi, even if you only want to pick up a hamburger.
